QUARTERBACK SCORING

We continue our in depth look at the scoring strengths and weaknesses.

SCORING QUARTERBACKS

The Top 3:

1. ROYALE W/CHEESE
POINTS:  The Cheese have scored 195 points at the QB position

The Cheese have three-time reigning top scoring QB in the PBR league Aaron Rodgers.  He has put up all 195 points at the position this season for the Cheese.  With his bye week this week (week 10), the Cheese will be lead by Ryan Fitzpatrick, and it will be interesting to see what, if any, dropoff occurs.  The top QB trophy is named the "Trick Trophy", but if Coach Cam wins it a fourth time in a row...maybe a renaming is in order.

2. HURRICANES
POINTS:  The Hurricanes have scored 192 points at the QB position

Drew Brees has accounted for 179 of the Hurricanes 192 points.  We would venture a guess that no one could figure out who scored the other 13...but we will tell you it was Kevin Kolb.  The Hurricanes are always solid at the position with Mr Brees, and this season is no different.

3. COUNSELOR
POINTS: Counselor has scored 184 points at the QB position

Counselor stunned this blog editor when he took Robert Griffin III with the 14th pick in the draft.  Counselor already had Michael Vick, and plenty of other holes to fill.  Flash forward to week 10, and you will see that it was actually an incredibly smart move.  Griffin III has scored more points for his team than any of the 13 picks taken before him...and he didn't even start week 1 for Counselor.  Interestingly enough, the next highest scorer in the top 13 picks is Andrew Luck who was taken 5th overall by the Roommates.

The Bottom 3:

10. K-911s
POINTS: The K-911s have scored 136 points at the QB position

The have struggled at QB for years.  They made a big move this season by trading stud RB LeSean McCoy for five players: Rashard Mendenhall, Julius Peppers, Daniel Thomas, Steve Johnson, and QB Matt Schaub.  While Schaub has been an improvement for the K-911s, his 97 points in the first 7 weeks ranked the K-911s last in the league.  Luckily, Coach Lou added Josh Freeman.  Freman has put up 39 points in his first two starts for the K-911s...pulling the team out of the cellar, and keeping them in the playoff conversation.

11. PRETTY BOYS
POINTS: The Pretty Boys have scored 133 points at the QB position

The answer to the Pretty Boys QB sturggles is not easy to find.  Both Tony Romo and Joe Flacco are on the roster.  Romo has started 6 games and Flacco 3.   One of those starts a piece was a no-brainer decision since one or the other had a by week.  Out of the remaining 7 weeks, Coach Danneker played the right QB 5 times.  A great percentage.  So, he is making the right decisions, and Romo has averaged over 16 points a game in his last four starts.  I would venture a guess that the Pretty Boys don't remain in the bottom 3 for long.

12.  SOUP CAN
POINTS:  The Soup Can has scored 125 points at the QB position

If these rankings were posted after week 7, the Soup Can and QB Eli Manning would be in the upper half of the rankings.  However, since Eli has only managed to average FOUR points a game in his last two starts...the Soup Can finds themselves in the Quarterback Cellar.  Manning is the only QB on the Soup's roster at the moment.  It will be interesting to see who Coach Bell will start in place of Manning during his week 11 bye.  If Manning can get his act back together, the Soup Can should be able to climb back out of the bottom 3.

    1. It is true. 21 different QBs have started in the PBR league this season, and Kevin Kolb is one of them. The Hurricanes push some funny buttons in the their quest for points.
